The fading soldier April 30th, 2009
If you are EVER faced with a tough decision… and I’m talking as little a decision as which dress to wear to the party to as big as whether you should make a career change, then you MUST consult your dreams!
All the answers you will ever need are already inside of you and are being given to you at night while you are dreaming. Why do you think we say, “Let me sleep on it?”
Don’t believe me? Listen to the audio below and hear how a dream helps a soldier make a major life decision. This is from the other day when I was on KISS FM in El Paso with Mike and the Wake Up Crew…

My hot date was ruined by crickets! April 29th, 2009
Every Monday I get to dissect a sex or relationship dream for my friends at Em and Lo: Sex, Love and Everything Inbetween This week’s dream is about a gal whose good time is ruined by crickets!
I had this really weird dream where I was in a huge mansion with tons of girls and only 4 guys. I think it was a free for all orgy party but, not wanting to share, I grabbed a cute guy and quickly made off with him.
Next thing I know we’re lying on a bed in a room with a low ceiling and a big ceiling light. We start making out and the guy stops to ask if we could move to another room, because he’s afraid there’re crickets in the light fixtures.
Of course, I walk away from him. But after a while I turn and go back to him and then I wake up from my dream. So what the hell is going on with me?I Hate Mood-spoiling Crickets.
Lauri: A large amount of girls in a dream often points to a large amount of feminine energy in waking life. The free-for-all orgy of mostly girls reflects something seemingly chaotic and messy you would rather not have a part of. Are all your girlfriends getting together and being catty in order to please themselves?
The low ceiling and the large light fixture that might be full of crickets seems to suggest there is an issue “hanging over your head” that is really “bugging” you… but is probably based on an assumption rather than a certainty.
Even though the guy was the one bothered by them, he is a part of you. He is the yang to your yin. You walk away because part of you does not want to attend to this matter, but then you come back because the bigger part of you knows you need to handle your bizness!
The message of the dream is to get in touch with your inner Orkin Man ®, “exterminate” the issue that’s bugging you by shining the “light” of truth on it.
Dreams help us in every area of our lives, relationships, career, overcoming the past… you name it! When you can understand your dreams, your life gets better because decisions are easier, tough situations are clearer and you’re just plain smarter when you dream! Lions in dreams April 28th, 2009
Lions and other predatory cats are popular symbols that appear in women’s dreams. Most of the time we are frightened of the lion in our dreams, but that does not mean the lion represents a bad thing in our life. Au contraire! When a lion or other predatory cat stalks us in our dreams, it represents something empowering that we are resisting!
I was a guest on KISS FM in El Paso last week with Mike and The Kiss Wake Up Crew when a lady called in with a recurring dream of being stalked by a lion. Listen below to find out why she needs to listen to the message this lion brings her…
Are you dreaming of lions, snakes, dogs, or other animals? Then you gotta grab yourself a copy of my book So, What Did You Dream Last Night? It’s ALL in there! And it has pretty cool dream inspired illustrations too!!

The Love Boat… capsized! April 27th, 2009
Ever dream you’re on the high seas in a luxery liner? Or maybe you’re on a fishing boat in rough waters. Whatever the case, odds are, your boat dream is commenting on the ol’ relation”ship” department!
The audio below is a great example of how boats in dreams are helping us to navigate through the torrential waters of love! When I was a guest on “Two Girls and a Guy” morning show on WSSX Charleston, SC, Brooke – one of the two girls – had a very interesting boat dream…

Waiting… April 21st, 2009
Every Monday I get to dissect a sex or relationship dream for my friends at Em and Lo: Sex, Love and Everything Inbetween This week’s dream is from a gal who’s trying to move on from her cheatin’ man…
Real life: The guy I’d been seeing for a couple of years became involved with another woman that I knew. Long story short, I found out then called them out on it. We went through some up and downs but never stopped communicating completely. He calls regularly to check on me and we see each other numerous times a week as we are members of the same church. My therapist suggested I give him her number to see if he was willing to work through therapy together. He was defensive about it and I never pressed, considering I don’t want to push anything. If he doesn’t want to do the work it takes to rebuild trust, then I let it go and move forward. A month or so later I have this dream…
The dream: I was in a familiar waiting room and I see the young man I had been involved with. He doesn’t really speak but encourages me to go into the other room. I was led by a woman in her 40s. It was obvious that we were there for a counseling session. As I was led into the office I somehow I sensed that he wanted to be a part of my healing. He appeared quite remorseful.
Lauri: The setting of your dream feels familiar because this hurt mindset you are in has become familiar, either because this has happened to you before or because you’ve been carrying it around long enough that it is familiar, almost comfortable for this pain to be a part of your daily life.
The waiting room suggests that this is also your mindset as of late, you are waiting either for the pain to be gone or you are waiting for him to step up and make things right (i.e. work through this with you)… or both.
The older woman leading you into the office is the wiser, more mature part of yourself that you need to follow. She is the part of you that has learned and will continue to learn well from age and experience. She is trying to lead you past the mindset of waiting for him and waiting for pain to go away and into the point of action.
And notice how he encourages you past the waiting mindset also? What you have to keep in mind here is that he is not playing himself. This is your mind at work and your thinking and healing taking place so this is not his encouragement, this is yours. It is being shown to you in the form of this guy so that you will pay attention to it and listen to it.
At the end of the dream he looks remorseful because this is an image you want to cling to. You want to know in your heart that he feels bad for betraying you. And he may. But keep in mind that he was not willing to go to your therapist to work on this with you so he is clearly not as invested in your healing as you are. I hope this helps.
Are you trying to heal from the past? Your dreams are a very tangible tool in the healing process. They will not only show you how you are doing but will give you the encouragement you need to keep moving forward. My book Cracking The Dream Code has a daily dream decoding journal in it that not only helps you to connect the imagery in your dreams to what is going on in your life right now, but also helps you to see who is good for you and who isn’t!

That frustrating gum dream! April 21st, 2009
I’ll bet you’ve had this dream! I know I have. You know the one, where you have too much gum in your mouth and you can’t get it out. Or maybe it’s not gum! I’ve had dreams where I’ve had tiny paperclips in my mouth that I can’t get out. One client of mine had recurring dreams of not being able to get horse poo out of her mouth!! Ug!
This is such a common recurring dream for so many people because it is commenting on a common behavior pattern so many of us have. The audio below explains it all! It is from my appearance on FM 100 in Memphis with Dana and Ron…
Laurie’s dreams are trying to show her that she can avoid a lot of frustration in her life if she would just speak up when she needs to. Her dreams are comparing the frustrations of holding her tongue to the frustration of not being able to get a wad of gum out of her mouth.
When you are able to finally understand your recurring dreams, you gain valuable insight into your own recurring behavior patterns. We’re not always aware of our behavior patterns nor how those behavior patterns affect our life’s path.
Being able to understand your dreams gives you a huge edge over those that ignore them. You begin to understand yourself like never before. Decisions become easier. Relationships improve. Life becomes better… and YOU become more powerful. All the answers and guidance you ever need are already there inside of you and are being given to you every night while you dream. YOUR DREAMS ARE YOUR VERY OWN SECRET WEAPON against all the negativity and frustrations in life.
Want to be able to understand your dreams every morning and make HUGE positive changes in your life? Grab yourself a copy of one of my books and you can become the Dream Expert among your friends and family!
“I continue to enjoy my books and the membership site. I really think my quality of life has improved with my new insight into dream language.” - Patricia Glaab, Hampton, VA
How a blue spider helped a woman move on April 20th, 2009
Bugs creep and crawl into our dreams quite often. When they do, try not to be creeped out when you wake up. They come with an important message for you… and that message usually means there is something or someone in waking life you need to “exterminate” from your life!
This morning I was a guest on FM 100 in Memphis with Dana and Ron. A gal called in with a very interesting dream about a spider on a wash cloth… and the meaning behind this dream was certainly more important than she ever imagined!
What sort of bugs do you dream about?
That dream you’re wondering about right now is nagging you for a reason! It is trying to tell you something you need to know. I would be honored to help you with your dream. A very strange toilet dream… April 17th, 2009
And you think YOUR dreams are weird?? In a recent issue of The Los Angeles Decider, film director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) is asked if he has any bizarre recurring dreams, to which he answers: “I am going to the bathroom and I crap and I can’t flush [it] away. Then there is a fish that comes out of the toilet and he has the face of Mick Jagger. He has a big mouth and he crawls on the turd, swallows it, and disappears. I swear, I’m not responsible for this.”
Let’s break this down, shall we? First of all, we give ourself our dreams, they are not coming from some outside source, so Mr. Gondy is indeed responsible! Secondly, believe it or not, going number 2 in a dream is a good sign! It suggests that he is trying to ”relieve himself” of frustration or “crap” that he had been holding in. (those frustrating bathroom dreams where you can’t find a toilet or one that is suitable or working mean that you are not releasing your frustration and anger)
But he is unable to flush the toilet! A good indication that try as he might, he still holds onto this negativity. Perhaps it’s a grudge he can’t seem to “flush away.” Thankfully a fish with the likes of Mick Jagger EATS the… um… leavings of Michel! Well, usually what happens at the end of your dream is the point your dream wants to make. In this case, his dream is using a celebrity to get its point across. Michel would have to incorporate his own personal associations to mick here but a good way to figure out what a celebrity means in your dream is to think of the first song, movie role, etc. that comes to mind when you think of them. The stones most famous song is “Satisfaction.”
For the Mick/fish to eat the “turd,” which represents Michel’s frustrations and negativity, his dream is showing him he is in a cycle of taking in, swallowing, and never fully releasing the negativity. And allowing this cycle to continue means he “can’t get no satisfaction!”
Are you dreaming of celebrities? They definitely mean something! In my book So, What Did You Dream Last Night? there is a whole chapter on celebrities in dreams and how to figure out what they mean to you! Plus, why house dreams are important, what sex dreams say about your personality and more!
“This book has helped me so much. I dont wake stressed about my dreams. I have also used it to help my wife and some friends. The best purchase I’ve made! It’s a great read. Thank you so much!!”

My boyfriend impregnated a hussy! April 15th, 2009
Every Monday I get to dissect a naughty dream for my friends at Em and Lo: Sex, Love and Everything Inbetween This week’s dream is about a long distance relationship…
A few nights after a really nice, sunny day spent with my boyfriend , I had this dream that really bothered me. In the dream, he’s just come back from a long trip. We settle down to talk in my living room. We are holding hands and leaning on each other, and suddenly there is this anonymous girl there with us. She brings up a shocking bit of news — that my boyfriend has impregnated some hussy while abroad! He is totally ashamed and repentant, and while I get a little angry, I mostly stay cool-headed and even say, “Let’s not have a stupid fight” (I remember this line very clearly). I walk out of the room angrily, but then quickly return and accept him and propose a way for us to work through this trial. Of course, our potential for welcome-back sex is ruined.
This dream shocked me because it is totally out of character for both me and my boyfriend. We have been very committed to one another for close to two years. And though we have not yet had intercourse on the basis of taking things slow and smart. We do live an hour apart, but I see him most weekends and will be with him from the summer onward.
Lauri: When you are in a long distance relationship (even when the distance isn’t all that long) it is common to dream that your mate is in another country… or even on another planet! It reflects how difficult the distance is on the emotions. You want so badly to be together that it seems like you are light years away from each other.
His impregnation of “some hussy” is nothing for you to worry about! It very likely means that he has “fathered’ something new in his life such as a new idea, a new job, a new project… something that he considers to be “his baby.” Do you recall if, on that really nice sunny day, he mentioned something new in his life that might require quite a bit of his attention? This may be why you handled the news so well in your dream, because the real life situation is something you can accept… something perhaps you wanted to protest at first, but realized it is something you can live with.
Now as for the welcome back sex being ruined: that’s just the old “taking it slow and smart” attitude of yours creeping into the dream so that you don’t even break your commitment while sleeping! Man, you’re a tough cookie! …but a smart one!
Dreams help us in every area of our lives, relationships, career, overcoming the past… you name it! When you can understand your dreams, your life gets better because decisions are easier, tough situations are clearer and you’re just plain smarter when you dream! My book Cracking The Dream Code will help you learn your own dream language so you can get an edge in life.

When oh when is Octomom going to go away? Now she’s starting to affect people’s dreams!
Yesterday I was doing my usual Monday appearance on KZHT in Salt Lake City with Frankie, DB and Jessica when a gal called in with a dream that had Octomom written all over it. The dream wasn’t about her but she clearly influenced the imagery in this dream…
