When you dream of tornadoes, just remember Dorothy… March 11th, 2009
Have you had a tornado storm into your dreams before? I’d be surprised if you said no! Tornadoes are the most commonly dreamt of natural disaster… even for people like me who live in hurricane zones!
The reason is probably due to The Wizard of Oz. It is a movie that has been a staple in all our childhoods since it began airing on television every year since the 50s. Who doesn’t know Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and my favorite, The Cowardly Lion? It’s a story as familiar as our own backyards!
Remember how tense and worried you became as a child watching Dorothy scrambling away from the tornado, unable to get to safety in the cellar? And come on, MGM created quite a scary tornado effect, even for today’s standards!
It’s that same feeling of worry and tension we experience as adults that forms itself into a tornado in our dreams. Listen to the clip below when I was on US 99 in Chicago Illinois with Lisa Dent. This caller’s dream will ring a bell with a lot of people!
