Cheryl Burke got booed! December 13th, 2010
We call them celebrities because we celebrate them. They shine, stand out and are awarded and applauded for their performance. In that same vein, we all have a part of our personality that wants to stand out, shine and gain recognition for our performance in some area of our life.
Whether it’s Oprah Winfrey, Madonna or Donald Trump, the best way to figure out why a celebrity is making a guest appearance in your dream is to ask yourself what it is that celebrity is best known for. Is it a character they have played on TV or in the movies? Can you relate that character or show to your life right now? Is it a song? If so, does the title or the lyrics speak to you right now? Whether you are a fan or not, there is something about that celebrity that your inner mind connects with and it uses that celebrity to convey a message to you, about you so that you can continue to shine.
Dear Lauri,
I had a dream last night that Cheryl Burke (from Dancing with the Stars) was performing her freestyle in the finals with an unknown handsome man and the audience was screaming “BOOOOOO” because the dance was really slow. – Tina 34, Pittsburgh, PA
Lauri: This dream is not really about Cheryl Burke but rather about what she is best known for, dancing. Are you dancing around an issue that needs to be addressed? Is there something you are dealing with that was once working in harmony and rhythm with your life but is now a bit of a problem? The booing is connected to something that YOU disapprove of. And the fact that the dancing was going so slow suggests that you feel this issue is taking its sweet time to resolve itself. Whatever it is, you are going to have to work harder or change tactics in order to correct it. We want to be applauded in our dreams, not booed, as that suggests our inner mind is none too happy with how we are performing in waking life.
Tina replies: I’m really unhappy with the intimate side of my marriage right now yet I have no idea how to talk to my husband about that problem. He isn’t showing much interest lately. I’ve always had more drive than him but this is the worst I’ve seen it. I already told him about the dream this morning (Cheryl is his favorite pro) but I think I’ll tell him again and I’ll have to try to lead into “so this is what my dream means,” and see how that goes. Thanks!

Did Lady Gaga’s recurring dream save her father’s life? June 25th, 2010
Lady Gaga is known for her eccentric outfits and bizarre videos, so naturally her dreams do not disappoint either. In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Lady Gaga revealed this rather interesting dream…
“I have this recurring dream sometimes where there’s a phantom in my home and he takes me into a room, and there’s a blond girl with ropes tied to all four of her limbs. And she’s got my shoes on from the Grammys. Go figure—pyscho. And the ropes are pulling her apart. I never see her get pulled apart, but I just watch her whimper, and then the phantom says to me, ‘If you want me to stop hurting her and if you want your family to be OK, you will cut your wrist.’ And I think that he has his own, like, crazy wrist-cutting device. And he has this honey in, like, Tupperware, and it looks like sweet-and-sour sauce with a lot of MSG from New York. Just bizarre. And he wants me to pour the honey into the wound, and then put cream over it and a gauze.”
Apparently she went to Deepak Chopra to get this dream analyzed. I don’t know if he is schooled in Dream Psychology or not but I sure would love to know his take on it. As you know, yours truly is schooled in Dream Psychology (Jungian to be exact) so here’s my take (Gaga, if you’re reading this… you’re welcome):

Phantom figures are common in dreams, often referred to to as “the shadow” in Dream Psychology, they represent either one’s dark side or what the dreamer perceives as a dark, negative force in their life. This could be Gaga’s own personal demon such as if she suffers from depression or a drinking problem. However, my suspicion is that this phantom represents her father’s heart condition. Notice how the phantom tells her in the dream, ‘If you want me to stop hurting her and if you want your family to be OK, you will cut your wrist.’ Obviously, the blond girl is Gaga, she’s wearing her Grammy shoes after all! It was Gaga’s success, symbolized by the Grammy’s, that enabled her to pay for her father’s heart transplant and receive the best care available. She opened herself up (cutting her wrist) and gave of herself (the blood) so that her family would be okay.
The honey poured onto the wound in the dream is most certainly the sweetness of Gaga’s action towards her father, which healed him as well as the open wound her family was suffering not knowing if the father would get a new heart and if he did, would it save him. I believe this recurring dream just may have come to Gaga in order to help her make sure she did all she could to save her dear old dad.
That’s what our dreams are there for, to help us make the best decisions for our lives. And sometimes, those decisions can even save a life.
What do you think Lady Gaga’s dream was telling her?
Your dreams are such a powerful part of who you are. They are giving you answers and direction, even warnings you need to know every night of your life. Why wouldn’t you want the ability to understand these important, even life-changing messages? Grab yourself a copy of one of my books and you’ll easily understand your dreams every morning and get a HUGE edge in life.

Dreaming of Brad Pitt November 20th, 2008
I’ve been researching and analyzing dreams for 14 years now and in that time Brad Pitt has remained a constant figure in our collective dreaming mind. In fact, he has remained the most commonly dreamt of male celebrity, other than the president. But what is more interesting is that his meaning has changed!
Up until a couple of years ago, when Brad made a cameo in our dreams, he usually was standing in for what we perceive as the ideal man. For a woman, he represented everything she wanted in her intimate relationships and would find herself dreaming of Brad when her relationship wasn’t going so well OR when she was was looking for a relationship. For a guy, Brad often stood in for what he wanted to be. When a guy was feeling really good about himself and his accomplishments, Brad would be a common symbol in his dreams.
But NOW, 6 kids later, Brad seems to represent fatherhood in our dreams. I know for me personally, Brad and Angelina would grace my dreams whenever hubby and I discussed the idea of having more kids. And in the audio clip below, you’ll hear another great example of how Brad = Dad. This is from the other day when I was on Hot 96 in Evansville, IN with host Atom Smasher. The first dream in the clip is a pretty interesting one about an execution. If you want to hear the Brad dream, forward to right to the middle of the slide. It’s really interesting how it all pieces together!
